Candidate Statement from Chad Gibson
January 15, 2019

As an active member of the New England cycling community, I respectfully request your vote for election to the NEBRA board of directors. I’ve been a cyclist since racing for my college cycling club, and for the last twenty years I’ve be riding for fun, as a job, as an advocate, and as a racer. Growing up in the South where racing and riding are not so common, I feel extremely fortunate that we have a vibrant race community in New England and I am committed to volunteering my time and energy to make sure that this continues for us and future generations. Since joining 545 Velo three years ago and being an active member of the team, including serving on the board, I’ve seen how individuals and grassroots teams are the engines that can grow this sport. Since then, I’ve played an active role racing road and cyclocross, recruiting new members, and serving as the race director for BOSSCROSS over the last two seasons. We have grown the team to the largest in New England racing across all major disciplines and many categories. I hope that NEBRA can help promote more growth among teams, greater support for race promoters who we depend upon, and a healthy, competitive and vibrant race community. Even more importantly, I hope that we can grow the sport by supporting more development and junior teams.
