Call for entries to design award trophy

The New England Bicycle Racing Association would like to announce an open call for entries to design and manufacture the awards for this year’s NEBRA Trophy Series presented by BikeReg.

Submissions consisting of an artist’s statement and concept sketches/designs should be emailed to the NEBRA Board at board@nebra.us by July 1st, 2016. The NEBRA Board of Directors will vote on entries and choose 3 finalists by July 15th. We will then open up the voting to the New England cycling community to choose a winner on August 1st.

The winning artist will be awarded $750, and the two runners up will receive $100 each. 

Design Guidelines:

Awards should be physical in nature (sculpture, print, portrait) with differentiation (size, shape and/or color) between first second and third places. We are looking for something that the winner would be proud to display on a mantle or wall. The design should include a theme or concept of New England, and include the NEBRA name and “2016”. 

Upon selection, the winner will produce a total of 18 trophies, 3 places for each overall category, and 3 for NEBRA use (sponsor gifts etc). The winner may use some, all, or none of the $750 winners award for materials/manufacturing, but they must cover all the costs of producing the trophies. Trophy production must be completed by September 1st.

We hope that this will become an annual tradition for the New England cycling community.

Fine print:
Winning artist retains all rights. The New England Bicycle Racing Association will be granted license to use trophy images in print and social media for future marketing. NEBRA will not recreate or reproduce the trophy in it’s original form without consent from the artist.
