The Monadnock Cycling Club is excited to be organizing the 5th Annual Keene Pumpkin Cyclocross Race on Sunday, October 21st.  This year’s event will again be held at the Surry Mountain Recreation Area and use the same course as last year with the longer start, three sand sections, barriers, and fast sections.  The course is a good test of bike handling and speed.  Despite the video here: By order of the US Army Corp of Engineers, aerial drones are no longer allowed on the property of Surry Mountain Recreation Area.

For this year, we are excited to have the race as part of the Eastern Collegiate Cycling Conference (ECCC) CX race series. Collegiate racers from the Northeast will participate in various categories and add to the competition.   Also, the race is Junior and Masters friendly with additional fields for the younger and older participants.

We will be the host for the 2018 New Hampshire Cyclocross Championships.  The following field will be championship races:  Mens Elite/Cat 3 race will award Overall NH state champ and U23,  Men’s Masters in 5 year increments (40-44, 45-49, etc.) from Masters 40+ race, Juniors in 2 year increments (11/12, 12/13, etc) from the U14 race.  Men’s 15-18 will be awards from the 15-18 race.  Women’s overall, U23, 15-18 and Masters will come from the combined 1/2/3 and 4/5 and 15-18 field as they have the same start time.   If you win an overall placing for top 3 or U23 you are then not eligible for age group podium (For example…if you are 41 and place 2nd on the overall podium you will not also win the 40-44 catagory).  Medals will be given to the top 3 NH finishers in each field in each catagory.  You need to hold an annual license to be eligible. Note that no state medals will be awards from the Cat 4 or Cat 5 races.

We look forward to your participation this year.  More detailed information is below.
